The Municipal Offices are a great looking addition to Port St Johns and the Council deserves a round of applause. (Please note that the top left image was taken before the artwork displayed in the other three images was applied.)

Talking of which, the Port St Johns newspaper has been sold and is now part of the Jonnic stable. Regular visitors to Port St Johns will miss the quirky articles of the old proprietor.

KP Reels is looking sharp after a recent paint job.
The Coastal Needles Hotel
The Coastal Needles Hotel is being renovated and should soon offer visitors an attractive entrance picture of the town. You may want to read the book from the second episode of Going Nowhere Slowly for an interesting description of how the hotel operates.

Siya Community Computer Centre
Siya Community Computer Centre offers internet access, training and word processing. They also have offices available for rent, if you are looking for a place to set up business.

The Standard Bank
The Standard Bank is THE place in town for foreign exchange!

This feature of Port St Johns continues to attract visitors from all over the world to play a quick round.

Someone said this was the most southerly coconut tree in africa.

psj town streets
A rather famous piece of tar. Within a month of being laid, it was ruined by rains and written about in a national sunday newspaper. Today, its in a little better state of repair. Oh, and do watch out for the one way street system (2 streets!) as the traffic patterns appear to be controlled by the municipal police.

With so much of the old town of Port st Johns gone, it is reassuring to see that the Church tower still looms over the town.

The new Green House owner is trying to regain some of this famous spots lost glory.
The Bululo bridge
If you remember the old Bulolo River bridge, treasure the memory. Fears of being stranded by floods on the wrong side of the river are long gone.

The new Jungle Monkey Backpacker and Island Guest House owners have combined services and have been improving the facilities available.
They now include a concrete driveway and parking for guests and the Baz Bus, a deck with a view (above), a swimming pool, a rebuilt bar, redesigned accommodation and a restaurant with a pizza oven!
