Don't miss the
Ikaya Festival Party
21st January 2010

In 1991, when Wayne Rohland discovered Ikaya, he knew wanted to develop a place on the beach where people could relax and enjoy the Transkei.

Today, most of our guests are returning visitors who have learnt that Ikaya offers privacy, comfort and safety.

Word of mouth brings visitors from Europe and the United States. The fact Ikaya is yards from one of the best fishing spots in Port St Johns brings fishermen from Natal and further inland to stay with us. South African families stay at Ikaya because of our value for money. But the most passionate of returning clients are those who need to spend their holiday barefoot

Phone Wayne to make a booking, check the weather conditions or find out how the fish are biting. He'll probably just walk out onto the veranda and give you a live report.

Walk down to the rocks, about 100 meters away and start catching fish

Second Beach is a small gem. Flanked on the north by the Gap, to the south stretches kilometers of lush forest and a seemingly endless horizon of rugged cliffs and bays.

Five kilometers south of Port St Johns, Second Beach is home to a substantial community of hostelries ( Amapondo Backpackers, Bululo, The Lily Lodge, The Lodge, Mangrove Camp) and restaurants (Delicious Monster, Wild Fig Coffee Shop, Vuyani, Woodn'Spoon) while still retaining an air of peace and tranquility.

Once you are in Port St Johns, follow the signs on the Second Beach road out of town. After about five kilometers, go over the Bulolo Bridge and turn left along the Boulevard. At the end of the road, take the driveway up to the right.

Apart from being on the beach (we really are!) our facilities include four double rooms with ensuite bathroom and a children friendly garden. We also welcome your pets as part of your family.

Whether you are to enjoy a few days of our beach and warm water, visiting for a day of good food and stunning scenery, walking down the coast to Coffee Bay or here for our world famed rock, river and deep sea angling, we believe that Second Beach will remain in your memory for its unusual beauty.

Style as well as utility is the guiding theme at Ikaya
